Private Tour of The Eternal City in Rome Italy
The Trevi Fountain On this private tour of the Eternal City, you will glimpse the bygone glories of ancient Rome on this full-day excursion by air-conditioned vehicle. You will see the most famous sites and landmarks of Rome and the Vatican City, made famous by history and the many movies filmed in the Italian capital. Entrances to the Vatican or the Colosseum are not included unless the Add-Ons are purchased for those entrances. An option is also available for a Personal Guide for 4 hours to provide guidance during interior visits at the Vatican and/or Colosseum. Driving into the historical center of Rome, you will pass by and admire the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, the ruins of Caracalla Baths, the Capitol and Piazza Venezia, the city's center square. The Colosseum dates back to 80 AD and is perhaps the grandest and most famous of the city's monuments. In centuries past, some 50,000 spectators sat here spellbound as gladiators locked in combat and wild beasts were slain. The horror and fascination of it all springs to life as you explore these primeval ruins. You will pause at a vantage point overlooking the Forum where numerous foundations, columns and arches have survived the religious, civil and commercial hub of imperial Rome.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center. Religious and artistic highlights abound during your walk through the Vatican. Gaze in awe at the symmetry of the Piazza San Pietro and the enormity of St. Peters, the world's largest church. Then, time permitting, enter the Sistine Chapel and marvel at Michelangelo's awe-inspiring painted ceiling. To maximize your tour and avoid waiting in long ticket lines, pre-purchase of entrance tickets is strongly advised. Not Included: Dress Code: ~ Appropriate Dress is a MUST! Please be aware that there are monitors outside St. Peter's, which has a very strict dress code: no skirts above the knee, no shorts, no bare shoulders (i.e., tank tops or sleeveless blouses), and you must wear shoes. Slacks and jeans, however, are permitted. You will not be permitted inside the Basilica unless you are dressed appropriately. People who monitor visitors in churches have the right to refuse entrance if in their opinion the visitor is dressed in an inappropriate fashion to enter.
